Some More Flowers and Insects

Zinnia bud starting to open up.

Fly and a flower.

Rudbeckia bud starting to open up.  Up close the plant has kind of a prickly cactus look to it.  Those spines look more like little hairs in real life but have a more malicious in this magnified close up.  Still, I can tell you from experience, even if just getting some cut flowers, you do not want to work in bed of rudbeckia like this without gloves.

Spider playing peek-a-boo with me.

A zinnia getting close to fully open.

A different day but presumably the same ants and aphids as in last week’s post as they are in the same small flower bed.

Lone cowboy keeping the herd in check.

You might have noticed that these photos look a little different than my usual macro flower and bug photos.  That’s because they were taken with the extremely small sensor Panasonic ZS7.  Because of its small sensor this camera gives more depth of field than the Nikon D7100.  There is a trade off though for more DOF.  I get very little of the nice creamy out of focus background that helps to frame or isolate a subject.

Thank you for stopping by.

David

All photos taken with the not too complicated Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7.
