Lightning Bug and Flowers

 

“I wonder if I should jump?”

 

“What do you think little guy, can I make it?”

 

“I don’t know … it’s so dark.  I can’t even see the bottom.”

 

“Maybe I should just back off, …

 

… turn away, and let you all look at some flower photos instead.  Nothing more to see here, I’m not going to jump.”

 

 

I think, probably, most likely a coneflower bud.  But then again, could be one of the rudbeckias like the one below.

A rudbeckia, maybe the same one as above, holding on to a jewel with its petals, trying not to let go, as it fights its natural urge to bloom.
