Don’t know what plant this is but it has huge (approx. 24″x12″) dark colored leaves. They are almost black under the right lighting conditions.

It is interesting how a black leaf can reflect that much light. Your pictures are really knifesharp. It almost hurt my eyes.

Thank you Pete. Yes, the big one is quite something. They have several of them in two different spots in the garden and I always photograph them. These are my two best ones but I’m not that happy with them. We always go to the garden on sunny days and I’m thinking if I go on an overcast or cloudy day I might be able to capture both the intense darkness (not shown in these photos) and the detail.
