At the end of the first week in April I had a post on carpenter bees. This post features carpenter bees on the same butterfly bush as the earlier post but, unless there’s a great coincidence here, these are different bees. As with the other post I am saying bees plural but I don’t really remember if these shots are multiples of one bee, or if more than one bee is involved. I’m leaning more toward at least two bees because in one photo has a bee covered with a lot pollen and I don’t see that in any of the other photos.
Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks John. I agree with you on the pollen. For me it just seems to make them a bit more interesting and fun.

Lovely shots, David. You did well. I find bees quite a challenge to photo as they hardly ever keep still, so you have to kind of track them and snap them.

Thanks Pete. I don’t seem to have too much trouble with them and movement. I’ve found that the later it is in the year (starting about mid-September here in the middle of the US) the more tolerant they are and the more willing they are to share space on a flower with other insects. I’ve always thought that was because there is less food (flowers) and they are more intent on their job sensing the end is near. Of course, that last part especially, is me probably reading too much into the situation.
