Mostly Skippers

I have no intro comments so let’a go straight to the photos.

Some sort of wasp that appears to be hanging on for dear life to a rudbeckia.

Top view of the same wasp.

Bee and a skipper sharing a rudbeckia.

These next three shots are all skippers showing off their long proboscises or proboscides (your choice on the plural form of proboscis).

Thank you for stopping by.

David

All photos taken with a Nikon D7100 and Sigma 105mm macro lens.

    • Thanks and yes it is a very good lens. Glad I didn’t pay the extra ~$200 for the Nikon version because even though I’m sure it’s a very good lens I can’t imagine it would be that much better.

    • Thank you Eliza. Summer has always been my favorite season and I miss summer too but now it seems we only have two seasons: winter and the dog days of summer. 😦
