Four Shots of Cosmos Buds, a Skipper on a Zinnia, and Three Shots of a Carpenter Bee on a Zinnia

Lately I’ve not been able to come up with witty, clever, or enticing titles for my posts.  This one reads more like a Table of Contents than anything else.  To fix this I pulled out my handbook, 101 Things You Have to Know If You Are Going to Write for The Internet, to get some inspiration, or even steal ideas )which was one of the suggestions in the handbook).

Here are some alternate title possibilities:

You May Not Believe What These Carpenter Bees Are Doing

Growing Cosmos Buds, Have the Laws in Your State Changed?

Zinnias Are Going to Be a Thing This Year And It’s Not Too late for You To Get In On It

There Are Cosmos Buds Up the Street From Me and I’m Loving It

Skippers, We Love Them and Why You Should Too

Truth is I’m not going to go with anything like these titles.  In fact whenever I see a title similar to any of the above I get a little mad.  Usually I run across these types of titles when I’m reading what is supposed to be news or I’m doing a search looking for facts about something.  The reason I get a little mad is because I feel like I’m being insulted buy whatever site hosts this type of click bait crap (also known as CBC).  Like they think I am going to be so stupid that I just cant wait to click on the link and see “why I should read X before it gets deleted”.  Facebook used to be pretty bad with inserting these types of things into your timeline but I’ve noticed that they are much much better with with what they insert now.

Well, so much for that.  Let’s get back to what I described in my “table of contents” title.

The four cosmos buds.

The skipper on a Zinnia.

And the three shots of a carpenter bee on a zinnia.  Notice how the underside of his body is separated a little from the flower.

Here it looks as though he is laying into the flower a bit.

Here it looks as though he’s flattened out on the flower and hanging on for dear life.

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Great pictures. I spotted your title was very specific, then your what we all ‘should’ be writing options made me laugh out loud.

One of my pet hates is when politicians say ‘that’s why we’re going to…’. They all do it. Someone must have taught them.

    • Thanks Susan, I’m glad you enjoyed the titles. Yes, they all say it. My pet peeve is when the politicians, businessmen, military officers, and just about anyone who talks to the press asks a question and then answers it. Does it rub me the wrong way, yes it does. 🙂
