The title pretty much describes what’s in this post.
Dahlia not quite in full bloom. Taken with 105mm macro lens and 3x close up filter.

Honeysuckle
This and the next photo were taken with 105mm macro lens and 3x close up filter.
Going, going …
… gone!
Look! Up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s … oh yeah, it is a plane.
Rudbeckia Bud
Why do I feel compelled to photograph this thing all the time? A rhetorical question … unless you truly know the answer.
Green Bottle Fly
These utility wires and cables that run behind all houses in all the older suburbs of St. Louis are basically the equivalent of an interstate highway system for squirrels.
One more dahlia.
Thanks for stopping by.
David
Awesome pictures, David.
It’s the same with squirrels everywhere, isn’t it. The wires are their highways and if there is a kitty at home, she would spend the whole time looking at her “food” running on the wires.

Thank you Rekha and I think you’re right about squirrel behavior, kitty behavior too.

Thant’s not a mental image one usually associates with a flower, but you’re right, it does kind of look that way. 🙂

Great series and variety, David! Love the first dahlia photo and the squirrel with his ‘golden’ tail! 🙂
