Flower, Buds, and Bugs

I have included a couple of flower shots in with the insect photos just so you don’t have to go cold turkey from the recent all flowers posts to all insects.

Here is the flower promised in the title.  Yes I do have a lot of zinnias, particularly this variety.

And here is the bud; a cosmos.

Here come the insects.  First up the reliable ever present skipper, maybe a silver-spotted skipper.

I don’t know what this bug is.  At first I thought it was a treehopper but then noticed what I mistook for an enlarged pronotum was the base of its antenna.  My best guess now is some sort of leaf-footed bug.  Please note that best guess is not necessarily the same as good guess.

I’m pretty sure this is a leafhopper, possibly a sharpshooter.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are adjusting well to the move from nothing but flowers to posts including other subjects.

All photos taken with a Nikon D7100 and a Sigma 105mm macro lens.
