Bees and a Flower Again

All but one of the bees in these photos have very distinct pollen baskets.

One thing I don’t understand is why this bee has pollen covered legs instead of a pollen basket.  Is it becasue she hasn’t moved the pollen to the basket yet, is that a pollen basket; just different than others, or do some bees not have the basket?  Couldn’t really find a good answer using the google machine.

I’m not even sure if this little fella is even a bee.  Maybe a yellow-face bee but not enought detail for me to tell.

And here is the flower.

Thank you for visiting.

All photos taken wtih a Nikon D7100 and a Sigma 105mm macro lens.

    • Thanks Mike. Very well could be a small carpenter bee (and that’s seems a better candidate than mine) but my shot lacks so much detail that is needed to make agoodID. Nerver heard of the small carpenter bee but after looking at the link you provided I think I’ve seen quite a few of them in the past couple of years.
